BF-100 Bandpass Filter Set

 

The SureFire Radio BF-100 Bandpass Filter System cuts the noise and signals from other bands. Lower the noise floor on your transceiver, improve reception of weak signals and make more contacts. This filter unit contains six high performance bandpass filters in one compact package, covering the major contesting bands 160, 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters.

The BF-100 is a transceive capable filter that handles up to 100 watts RF. It is designed to be connected directly to any 100 watt HF transceiver antenna port. It provides excellent receive rejection of out-of-band signals, especially of adjacent contest bands, with low insertion loss and low SWR. This filter is easily operated manually with front panel push-buttons for quick bands selections. Automatic operation is simplified with several methods of band selection control. The BF-100 is directly compatible with Yaesu and Elecraft K3/K4 transceiver band data interfaces. For Icom, Flex and other brands it is easily controlled by SureFire Radio FireLAN network devices such as the optional MIC-7 Multi-Interface Controller. The BF-100 also provides direct positive voltage (+4-14 VDC) REMOTE control via a rear panel DB9F connector. Filters may be manually bypassed with the MODE switch and are bypassed when DC power is removed.

The BF-100 Bandpass Filters for 160 through 15 meters are 3-pole Chebyshev designs which provide over 40 dB of rejection to the adjacent contest bands. The 10 meter filter is a high pass Cauer design with deep -40 to -50 dB notches on 15 and 20 meters. High quality components are used throughout the unit, which is intended to be used on antennas that are 50 ohms with low SWR. The BF-100 will not tolerate high SWR operation or the use of a transceiver's built-in tuner. It will easily operate into the low SWR, 50 ohm input of most linear amplifiers.

The SureFire Radio BF-100 is built into an attractive and sleek heavy duty anodized aluminum case with laser engraved panels and high quality SO-239 connectors. Internal band-switching relays and band-selection LEDs are powered by user provided 12-14 Vdc, requiring only 100mA via a standard 2.1 mm input. The low current requirement allows this lightweight filter to be used in portable battery-powered field-day type operations.

Ideal for SO2R stations! Just use two BF-100s, one between each transceiver and amplifier, for interference-free contesting.
